The Ministry of the Public Works and Housing Basuki Hadi Muljono had targeted the road constructions to be completed before fasting month starts.

"We have prepared the planning (of repair and construction). Hopefully it will be ready and safe to pass before fasting," he said at the Gajah Mada University, Tuesday (5/26/2015).

In accomplishing the target, his party is to explore Pantura along with related ministries. "On June 4, our ministry, the Ministry of Transportation and the Chief of Police will go through Pantura. We hope that the 116-kilometer Cikopo-Palimaman Highway Toll will be operational during holiday travel time. Now, it is 95 percent completed," Basuki explained.

To break traffic jam in the Northern Coastal line during the peak of travel, the ministry have targeted to accelerate the completion of Palimanan road project up to East Brebes.

"From Palimanan to Pejagan. Then hopefully from Pejagan to East Brebes. So this might possibly break the traffic jam at the Northern Coastal Line. It had always been the center of congestion," Basuki mentioned.

Not only roads, his ministry will also complete the construction and repair on hundreds of connecting bridges.

"There are 199 bridges. One more is still unfinished yet, which is the Ciherang bridge. Earlier last week, the filling of the concrete started and now we are waiting to open the concrete cast. By June 4, people can pass through," he concluded.

Meanwhile on the southern line, the ministry is also chasing after the completion of road construction from Brebes to Purwokerto. (Eps)
