Metrotvnews.com, Jakarta: Borobudur Temple has become the center of Vesak celebration for all Buddhists in Indonesia. Thousands of security personnel have been deployed to ensure the safety of the main event to be held this evening, Tuesday (6/2/2015).

The area surrounding the temple is being guarded by at least 1,500 joint security personnel, which came from Central Java Police and Police Resorts, as supported by the Indonesian Military (TNI). Officials have also deployed armored vehicles to stand by.

President Joko Widodo is scheduled to attend the main event of this year's 2559 Vesak. Various preparations in Borobudur have also been conducted to commemorate the Buddhist religious holiday.

Even so, the operational day for the temple continues as usual, with a limitation of operating time up to 17.00 local time (WIB).

Aside from event preparations, free medication care was also held. As many as 347 medical personnel from TNI and volunteers of Indonesian Buddhist Representatives (Walubi) gave free medical treatments for public.

Nevertheless, the social act was only limited to 12.00 WIB, due to the clear up on the areas prepared for the event in the evening. (Eps)
