Metrotvnews.com, Jakarta: Governor of Jakarta Basuki 'Ahok' Tjahaja Purnama is to form an anti-brawl committee, as various brawls have erupted between students and residents despite the holy month of Ramadan.

As instructed by the President, the anti-brawl committee is to involve Jakarta Police. At the time, Ahok along with Jakarta Chief of Police Inspector General Tito Karnavian had conducted an undisclosed meeting to discuss the committee.
"We would first discuss the cooperation with the regional police, as the Presidential Instruction is available, but I forgot the number, it has to be made. The one involved will be the police and us," Ahok said at the City Hall, Jakarta, Thursday (6/25/2015).

Former East Belitung Regent explained that the anti-brawl committee will be permanently established. The task is especially to handle brawls. "The police and we are permanent, so we would form a team to handle those (brawls)," he stated.
Ahok hoped the formation of the committee may reduce student's and resident's brawls. He said, brawl actors would be imposed firm sanctions in the future.
"We have said, if our children still join brawls, they should be expelled from the school. It is no use to school those kind of children, a waste of money," Ahok concluded. (Eps)
