"Yesterday, I have said that if the leaders of the ministries cannot control their subordinates, first and second echelons, even carried away by them, forget about this. If they have no courage of conducting this breakthrough, forget it," Jokowi stated when starting the meeting at the Presidential Office, Jalan Medan Merdeka Utara, Jakarta, Tuesday (9/29/2015).

Jokowi mentioned he has repeatedly reminded economic ministers to conduct breakthroughs on investment licensing. Starting from the procedure's time, land occupation, electric supply, as well as the certainty of wage and employment system. Moreover, the investment deregulation policy package has also been published to ease investments.

"In previous meeting, I asked the Minister of Economy to conduct a fast breakthrough move in resolving investment problems, especially investment licensing. We see that there are still lots of boundaries on the field," he mentioned.

Jokowi also compared the investment licensing procedure between Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia. He felt embarrassed that Indonesia is on the sixth rank due to the long and complicated procedures. Meanwhile, Singapore and Malaysia were at the third and fourth.

"The time needed in Indonesia to start the business is 52.5 days. Compare it to Singapore at 2.5 days, Malaysia 5.5 days. Try to take note, we are ashamed. We really need to have concrete measures where the impact can be directly felt by the business world," he stated.
