Jokowi Asks Existing Regulations Cut by Half
President Joko Widodo and Vice Pesident Jusuf Kalla (Photo: MI/Panca Syurkani), Jakarta: President Joko Widodo led cabinet meeting about priority programs an d budget implementation for 2016 in Istana Bogor, West Java, Today (12/8/2015).
During the meeting Jokowi said currently there are 42 thousand regulations consist of Presidential Decree (Perpres), Ministerial Decree (Permen) and Government Regulation (PP) spread in each ministry. He asked the existing regulations to be cut by half.
"Compile all regulations and erase al the non-substantial ones. These regulation prevent us to move fast," said Jokowi.
Jokowi admitted many programs are delayed because of overlapping regulations between government agencies.
Besides regulation, President in the meeting also discussed about government budget simplification and preparation for regional election that will be held in December 9, 2015.
According to schedule, President after the meeting will attend the launching of PT PLN's Marine Vessel Power Plant in Tanjung Priok port. He then go back to Presidential Complex in Jakarta to meet Indonesian Association of Muslim Intellectuals (ICMI).
